THAT'S A WRAP: RADFORD BASEBALL'S 2011 FALL SEASON

Mere moments, relatively speaking, separate the start of the second semester and the Opening Day of the NCAA Division I baseball season.
The length of time from the first day of class to the season's first pitch is actually about a month – less than major league players spend from the time pitchers and catchers report to the Opening Day festivities.
So, where's the preparation time?
It's the fall semester, where a full 20-hour-per-week practice schedule prepares college teams nationwide for the start of the new year. For fifth-year head coach Joe Raccuia and Radford's baseball program, the practice is no different.
Fall is a critical time for the Highlanders on the field, with practice and the Fall World Series. Off the field, the semester's activities set the makeup for the team going forward with strength and conditioning, and community service as important components.
This season, RadfordAthletics.com followed the Highlanders through the highlights of autumn: Pro Scout Day, the Highlander Challenge, and the team's community service work at Radford's Dalton Middle School. See and hear the experiences through the team's senior leaders: Jeff Kemp, Brett Mollenhauer, Matt Mack, Matt Hillsinger, Abram Williams and Jason Patten.
