CHARLOTTE, N.C. – For the second time this season, Radford junior guard
Da'Naria Erwin Spencer (Charlotte, N.C./East Mecklenburg) has been named the Big South Conference Women's Basketball Choice Hotels Player of the Week, announced by the league office Tuesday.
Erwin Spencer led the Highlanders to a 1-1 mark last week. In games against Wake Forest and Wofford, she averaged 20 points, 4 assists and 3 steals. The highlight of her week came against first-time opponent Wofford, where she poured in 24 points to lead all scorers on a career-high 10-of-18 (.556) shooting. It was her third 20-plus point effort of the season, while her two assists against the Terriers gave her 200 for her career.
At Wake Forest, Erwin Spencer netted 16 points, went 6-of-7 from the charity stripe, dished out six assists and pulled down five rebounds.
Earlier this season, Erwin Spencer garnered the award for her play in wins over Winston-Salem State, USC Upstate and UNC Greensboro.
