NORFOLK, Va. – Radford women's basketball will hit the road for the fifth straight game when it takes on Norfolk State Friday evening at 6 p.m at Echols Hall.
THE OPENING TIP
♦ Radford enters the fifth of a season-long six-game road swing on Friday.
♦ The Highlanders got their first win away from home in the month of December since Dec. 22, 2007 when they defeated Wofford, 63-46 in the Asheville Collegiate Invitational on Saturday. Radford is 35-89 all-time in December away from home.

Da'Naria Erwin Spencer (Charlotte, N.C./East Mecklenburg) continues to lead the Highlanders and the Big South in scoring at 19.1 per contest. She has posted double figures in 13 straight games (16 of last 18) and has three outings of 20 or more points this season.

♦ Erwin Spencer once again led all scorers with 24 points on 10-of-18 shooting and a perfect 4-for-4 from the stripe to lead Radford to a 63-46 win over Wofford. Freshmen duo
Ayana Avery (Cleveland, N.C./West Rowan) and
Ashia Holmes (Salisbury, N.C./Salisbury) provided the much-needed energy off the bench. Avery netted a career-high 13 points while Holmes chipped in with 7 points and 6 rebounds.
Victoria Hamilton (St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands/Antilles School) led the way on the glass with a season-high 12 rebounds.
SERIES HISTORY
♦ Radford holds a 6-3 all-time edge in the series. The two squads haven't met on the hardwood since 2005. Radford is 22-18 (.550) against schools from the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference. Furthermore, Radford is 203-144 against schools from the Commonwealth.
SCOUTING THE SPARTANS
♦ Norfolk State comes in at 5-3, 1-1 MEAC. The Spartans have played two Radford opponents thus far, as they fell to Wofford 45-50, but defeated USC Upstate 94-81.
