BOX SCORE

CINCINNATI, Ohio – Cashmere Wright scored a career-high 25 points and Cincinnati shot 60 percent on its way to a 101-70 victory over Radford in non-conference men's basketball action Saturday afternoon at Fifth-Third Arena.

Wright, who made 10-of-16 shots to go along with six assists and five rebounds, was joined in double figures by teammates Sean Kilpatrick (16), Dion Dixon (15) and Jermaine Sanders (12).

Cincinnati (7-3), which opened 13-of-18 from the floor, including four 3-pointers, raced out to a 34-7 lead and didn't allow the Highlanders closer than 22 points the rest of the way. The Bearcats shot 65.5 percent in the first 20 minutes of action and went to the break up, 55-23.

Despite the loss, Jareal Smith (Savannah, Ga. / Johnson) led the Highlanders with a season-high 22 points, 19 of which came after intermission. A member of the Big South All-Freshman squad a year ago, the sophomore went 7-of-12 from the field and made three of the Highlanders' seven buckets from long range.

Johnathan Edwards (Queens, N.Y. / Tyler JUCO) and R.J. Price (Mechanicsvile, Va. / Atlee) also hit the 10-point plateau for Radford with 16 and 11, respectively.

In addition to outscoring the Bearcats, 47-46, in the second half, Radford (3-9) shot 54.8 percent in the period to conclude the game at 38.8 percent (26-67).

The Highlanders finished with a 38-34 advantage on the glass, which included 20 offensive rebounds that led to 25 second-chance points.

Over their last two contests, the Bearcats are shooting 57.8 percent (66-114) overall and 45.2 percent (24-53) from behind the 3-point arc.

Cincinnati turned 17 Highlander miscues into 30 points.

Radford returns to the Dedmon Center Tuesday for a 7 p.m. contest with Eastern Michigan.
