PREGAME NOTES
-- After playing three straight on the road, Radford returns to the Dedmon Center Tuesday evening for its home finale when it hosts Presbyterian in a 7 p.m. tip.
-- Prior to the contest, the Highlanders will honor senior guard
Jeremy Robinson (Baltimore, Md. / Tallahassee Community College).
-- Radford enters the eighth all-time meeting 5-20 overall and 2-13 in the Big South following a 71-58 loss at VMI over the weekend.
-- Despite the setback, the Highlanders were led by red-shirt freshman
Tolga Cerrah (Ankara, Turkey), who recorded his second career double-double with 15 points and 15 rebounds, while going 7-of-11 from the floor.
-- In addition to Cerrah's best performance of the season,
Jareal Smith (Savannah, Ga. / Johnson) contributed double figures for the fourth straight game and is averaging 18.5 points, while shooting 41 percent from behind the arc dating back to Radford's last home contest, a 67-66 win over Winthrop on Feb. 1.
-- Jareal and
Blake Smith (Charlotte, N.C. / United Faith Christian Academy) pace the Highlanders in scoring, averaging 9.0 points per outing, while Cerrah (5.5) and
Johnathan Edwards (Queens, N.Y. / Tyler Junior College) (5.4) lead the way on the glass.
-- The Highlanders have never lost to Presbyterian at the Dedmon Center.
-- On Saturday, Radford will play its final non-conference tilt of the season when it travels to William & Mary for a 7 p.m. Bracketbusters contest.
SCOUTING THE BLUE HOSE
-- Presbyterian, which has dropped four of its last five, enters 11-16 overall and 5-10 in the Big South following a 61-48 victory over Charleston Southern.
-- The Blue Hose are without their top-scorer and rebounder Al'Lonzo Coleman for the remainder of the season due to an ankle injury. The red-shirt junior was averaging 14.1 points and 8.1 rebounds a game prior to going down against UNCA on Jan. 8.
-- Khalid Mutakabbir (13.7) and Jake Troyli (10.7) are also averaging double figures for Presbyterian.
-- Mutakabbir (.517) leads the Big South in 3-point field-goal percentage, while Troyli (.855) is second in free-throw percentage.
-- As a team, PC has struggled on the defensive end allowing teams to shoot 46 percent, while forcing just 11 turnovers per game, both of which rank last in the Big South.
-- Despite their defensive woes, the Blue Hose lead the Big South in 3-point field goal percentage and are second in free-throw percentage.
