RADFORD, VA. -- Radford hosts Winthrop for its final home game of the 2010-11 season on Monday at 7 p.m. The Highlanders have hit a bump in the road and are looking to snap a three-game slide after falling at home to Liberty on Saturday.

GAME NOTES

The Eagles enter the contest winning three of their last four after a 56-47 road win at Presbyterian on Saturday.

Radford comes in a half-game out of third place behind Gardner-Webb, while Winthrop is tied with Charleston Southern for the fifth spot, two games back of Radford.

In their last contest, the Highlanders' senior day was spoiled as they fell to Liberty, 66-50, in a battle of the top two Big South teams Saturday afternoon. The Lady Flames used a commanding edge on the glass and a double-double from Avery Warley to defeat Radford.

Denay Wood paced the Highlanders with a team-best 12 points and six rebounds. Erica Rivera and Kahealani Vick chipped in with nine points apiece.

This will be the 61st meeting between two of the original Big South schools in a series that dates back to the 1984-85 season.

Despite a 65-55 win by Winthrop on Jan. 15, the Highlanders still hold a commanding 51-9 lead in the series, including 26-4 in the Dedmon Center. The Lady Eagles have won two straight and three of the last four contests.

Winthrop handed Radford its only loss during the first half of league play, when it defeated the Highlanders, 65-55 on Jan. 15 at the Winthrop Coliseum. Despite the loss, Da'Naria Erwin Spencer matched a career-high with a game-best 24 points.

Radford struggled from the field, shooting just 27 percent, while Winthrop shot 43 percent and was led by Dequesha McClanahan's 21 points.

RU closes out the regular season with four road contests beginning with Charleston Southern on Saturday, Feb. 26 at 2 p.m.
