Pregame Notes
-- Looking to finish on a positive note, Radford will conclude its 2010-11 men's basketball season with a 2 p.m. contest at UNC Asheville Saturday afternoon.

-- The Highlanders, who were eliminated from postseason play last week, enter 5-23 overall and 2-15 in the Big South following a 71-63 setback at Gardner-Webb Thursday evening.

-- Radford led by as many as 12 midway through the second half before Gardner-Webb outscored the Highlanders 25-8 over the next 8:30 to go in front for good.

-- Jareal Smith (Savannah, Ga. / Johnson) led three Highlanders in double figures with 16 points, while Blake Smith (Charlotte, N.C. / United Faith Christian Academy) had 13 and Jeremy Robinson (Baltimore, Md. / Tallahassee C.C.) added 11 on 5-of-6 shooting off the bench.

-- Despite dropping six straight, Radford has led in the second half in four of those contests.

-- Jareal Smith, who is averaging 18 points over the last six games, is trying to become the first freshman in school history to lead the team in scoring. The 6-3 guard is contributing 9.6 points per game and Blake Smith is turning in 9.0 a contest, while sitting 15th in the nation in steals (2.46).

-- Tolga Cerrah (Ankara, Turkey), Johnathan Edwards (Queens, N.Y. / Tyler Junior College) and Martins Abele (Saldus, Latvia / Oak Hill Academy) are each averaging over five rebounds per contest for the Highlanders.

Scouting the Bulldogs
-- UNC Asheville enters the 59th meeting and final regular season contest at the Justice Center 15-13 overall and 10-7 in the league following a 76-62 victory over High Point Thursday evening.

-- Matt Dickey and J.P. Primm lead the Bulldogs offensively averaging 15.1 and 15.0 points per game, respectively. The backcourt duo also paces the club in free-throw percentage, 3-point field goals and assists per game.

-- As a team, UNC Asheville ranks near or at the top of the Big South in scoring offense, scoring margin, free-throw percentage, field-goal percentage defense, blocked shots, assists per game, steals per game, turnover margin and assist/turnover ratio.

-- In addition to leading the conference in steals per game, the Bulldogs rank sixth nationally, averaging 9.3 per contest.

-- A win over the Highlanders would clinch the No. 3 seed in next week's Big South Tournament.

-- Six of UNCA's 13 losses have come by five or fewer points, including two in overtime.
