Pregame Notes
-- Coming off a 67-66 win over Winthrop Tuesday evening, Radford will play six of its final seven regular season contests on the road, beginning with a 7 p.m. tilt at High Point Saturday.

-- Freshman Jareal Smith (Savannah, Ga./Johnson) paced the Highlanders in their second conference win of the season with 25 points and eight rebounds, while going 8-of-17 from the floor.

-- Blake Smith (Charlotte, N.C./United Faith Christian Academy) (13) and fellow sophomore Evan Faulkner (Sandy Hook, Ky./Elliott County) (11) also added double figures for Radford, which finished 8-of-12 from behind the 3-point arc for a season-best 66.7 percent clip.

-- The Highlanders enter the 31st meeting 5-17 overall and 2-10 in the Big South, with their other league victory coming against High Point on Jan. 8 in Radford.

-- Gorkem Sonmez (Istanbul, Turkey) leads Radford in scoring, contributing just under 10 points a game, while Johnathan Edwards (Queens, N.Y./Tyler Junior College) and Tolga Cerrah (Ankara, Turkey) are averaging better than five rebounds.

-- Blake Smith paces the Highlanders on the defensive end averaging a conference-best 2.6 steals per contest, which also puts him 13th in the nation.

-- Under fourth-year head coach Brad Greenberg, Radford is 20-5 in February contests.

-- The Highlanders will continue their challenging end-of-the-year slate Thursday at in-state foe / rival Liberty.

Scouting the Panthers
-- High Point, which is in the midst of a season-long five-game homestand, enters 8-13 overall and 5-7 in the Big South Conference following a 69-62 win over Presbyterian Tuesday.

-- Preseason Big South Player of the Year Nick Barbour leads the Panthers in scoring, averaging 16.5 points per game, while shooting just under 80 percent from the charity stripe, both of which rank among league leaders.

-- In their last meeting with the Highlanders, Barbour was the lone Panther in double figures with a game-high 22 points, including four 3-pointers, while missing just one of his nine free throws.

-- Backcourt / classmate Shay Shine (12.9) is also averaging double figures to go along with a 36.3 percent clip from behind the 3-point line.

-- Corey Law leads the Panthers on the glass averaging 7.7 rebounds per contest, which ranks fifth in the Big South.

-- Like the Highlanders, High Point's roster is loaded with underclassman as 10 of its 16 players are freshmen and sophomores.

-- A majority of the Panthers' struggles this year have come at the defensive end as they rank near the bottom of the league in scoring defense (9th / 73.4) and field-goal percentage defense (10th / .461).
