HIGHLANDERS WRAP UP HOMESTAND WITH ASHEVILLE ON SATURDAY

RADFORD, Va. --
Radford women's basketball begins the second half of the league schedule when it concludes a four-game homestand against UNC Asheville Saturday at 3 p.m. from the Dedmon Center.

Game Notes

Coming off a 66-55 win against Coastal Carolina on Homecoming, the Highlanders (10-11, 7-1 Big South), who are riding a four-game winning streak, enter the contest tied with Liberty for first place in the Big South.

The Bulldogs (9-11, 2-6)  fell at Presbyterian, 53-51, on Monday night and have dropped four of their last five games.

In its last victory, Radford, behind lengthy runs to close each half, held off Coastal Carolina last Saturday afternoon. Ashley Buckhannon led three Highlanders in double figures with a season-high 18 points off the bench.

Buckhannon has tallied 30 points in the last two contests and has provided Radford with at least seven points off the bench in six of the last seven games she has played in.

After winning the league opener on Jan. 3, Radford, which has won six of the last eight meetings, holds a 41-16 all-time record against UNC Asheville as the teams meet for the 58th time. The Highlanders are 24-3 against the Bulldogs in the Dedmon Center.

In the first meeting, Kaylyn Crosier scored a career-high 20 points and Radford shot season-high 53 percent in a league-opening victory. Crosier was joined in double figures by three other Highlanders, who tallied a season-high 21 assists.

After a lengthy break, Radford hits the road on Monday, Feb. 14 taking on Coastal Carolina at 7 p.m.
