CLEARWATER, Fla. Stephanie Dameron tossed a one-hit shutout and Morgan Eye knocked in four runs as Radford rebounded from its first loss in Florida with an 8-0 six-inning win over Connecticut. However, in game two Long Island rallied from 3-0 to defeat the Highlanders (12-8), 4-3 in game two

It was the first collegiate shutout for Dameron as the Huskies (7-8) mustered one infield single. Two of UConn's three runners were quickly erased by 6-4-3 and 5-4-3 double plays that ended both the first and third innings.

The Highlanders, who recorded nine hits, scored four runs in the third and six innings to match their second highest scoring output of the season.

In the third, Eye broke the scoreless deadlock with a two-run double just inside the third base bag. The next batter, Meredith Moore sent a pitch right back up the middle plating two more runs.

In the sixth, Eye registered a two-run single with a hard shot off the third baseman's glove the other two runs came across on wild pitches.

In game two, LIU rallied from a 3-0 deficit to defeat Radford, 4-3.

Radford grabbed a 2-0 lead in the first on RBI singles from Lauren Williams and Taylor Cunningham.

They added another run in the fourth on a successful squeeze by Ryndee Ruch that plated Eye with the third run.

The Blackbirds (6-16) struck for a run in the fourth and three more in the fifth, highlighted by a go-ahead two-run double by Jazmin Rodriguez put the Blackbirds up for good.

Chelsea Kelley suffered the defeat in just 0.1 innings of work.

The Highlanders close out play tomorrow at 9:30 a.m against Robet Morris at 9:30 a.m.
