GAME TWO BOX

GREENSBORO, N.C. – After falling to Memphis, 3-1 (25-17, 25-18, 23-25, 25-22) on Saturday morning, Radford suffered a 3-0 (25-20, 25-18, 25-23) setback to host UNC Greensboro in the final game of the Spartan Spiketacular.

Despite the losses, senior Carly Fleming (Manassas, Va./Osbourn Park) recorded 32 kills and became the Highlanders' all-time leader in solo blocks (50). For her efforts, Fleming was named to the all-tournament team.

Defensively, freshman Rachel Brummitt (Plano, Texas/Plano West) led the way with a combined 40 digs.

In the first match of the day, Fleming charted a career-high 17 kills (.577), while etching her name in the record books in game four.

Memphis separated from an early 2-2 tie with a 7-0 spurt and led the rest of the way for a game one, 25-17 victory. In game two, the Highlanders jumped out to a 4-1 lead, but the Tigers rallied with a 6-0 spurt midway through the game to break open a tight contest.

The Highlanders were able to take game three by scoring three of the final four points, including two kills by Fleming before Memphis closed out the match with a 25-22 game-three win.

Fleming continued her impressive play in the nightcap with 15 more kills and a .385 attack percentage.

The Spartans connected on 31.1 percent of their swings, while holding the Highlanders to just .214. UNCG also held a 45-40 edge in kills.

Radford (4-8) will enjoy a six-day break before hosting Liberty in its conference opener September 23 at the Dedmon Center.
