CHARLOTTE, N.C.– Radford's Emma Deininger (Wallingford, Pa./Strath Haven) was tabbed Big South Volleyball Freshman of the Week following her play in four matches last week, announced the League office on Tuesday.

Deininger, put away 36 kills on .403 hitting and posted 18 blocks to lead her Highlanders to a 2-2 record on the week.  After posting eight kills and four blocks against Elon, Deininger got hot and finished with 13 kills, a .440 attack percentage and eight blocks in Radford's 3-2 win over USC Upstate to open up the RU Fall Tournament on Sept. 2.

The next day against Chicago State, the rookie middle blocker notched five kills, three blocks and two digs as Radford picked up the 3-0 win. She finished the tournament with 10 kills, a .474 percentage at the net and three blocks as the Highlanders were edged by UMKC in the tournament finale. Her performances in the three-match span garnered her All-Tournament honors.

Radford returns to action next weekend at Miami/Best Western Tournament where it will face Alabama A&M on Friday at 5 p.m. and close out with host Miami (Ohio) and Florida Gulf Coast on Saturday.
