CHARLESTON, S.C. Radford women's basketball takes to the road for the first time in 2012 with a 2 p.m. tip Saturday afternoon at Charleston Southern.

SERIES HISTORY
♦ Radford has a decisive advantage, 41-16, in the all-time series.  However, the Buccaneers have been slightly better at home, as Radford only holds a 15-11 edge in Charleston.

THE OPENING TIP
♦ Radford (7-7, 1-2 Big South) has dropped 3 of its last 4 at CSU Fieldhouse, but defeated the Buccaneers a year ago in overtime, 81-78.  This year, Charleston Southern (10-5, 3-1 Big South) is 6-1 at home.
Da'Naria Erwin Spencer (Charlotte, N.C./East Mecklenburg) and Ashley Buckhannon (Wytheville, Va./George Wythe) continue to pace the Highlander offense with 16.8 and 14.9 points per contest, respectively.  Erwin Spencer has posted double figures in 21 of her last 24 games and has five outings of 20-plus points this season.  Each have reached 20 or more points in back-to-back contests this year, standing as two of six players in the Big South to accomplish that feat.
♦ The Highlanders' frontcourt duo of Victoria Hamilton (St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands/Antilles School) and Sarah Tabb (Chesapeake, Va./StoneBridge) are pulling down 7.4 and 6.1 rebounds per game, respectively.
♦ Buckhannon, Ayana Avery (Cleveland, N.C./West Rowan) and Katherine Brockett (Geelong, Australia/Kardinia International College) have combined for 180 of Radford's 200 three-point attempts (.900).  In addition, the trio has 59 of the Highlanders' 62 (.952) makes from long range.
♦ Radford is currently the Big South standard in free-throw shooting at 73.8 percent (175-237) and in steals (13.0 per game).

LAST TIME OUT
♦ Despite Erwin Spencer and Buckhannon scoring 18 points apiece and Hamilton's third career double-double, the Highlanders fell to High Point, 65-81.  The Panthers were lights out from the field, converting 61.5 percent of their attempts in the first half and outscored the Highlanders, 30-9, after the first 9:08.  Radford, however, dominated the paint 40-14, and fast break points, 20-0.

SCOUTING THE BUCCANEERS
♦ After starting 3-0 in conference, Charleston Southern dropped its first league decision on Monday at Asheville, 68-75.
♦ Highlighted by 11 double-figure games and 36 three-pointers, Rachelle Coward leads CSU with 16.0 points per game, followed by Lakeitha Alston at 15.9.  Alston is also coming off a 31-point effort at Asheville.
♦ The Buccaneers hoist up 9.4 three-pointers per game - tops in the Big South - with six players averaging above 35 percent.
