BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. Playing in the first of four straight road contests, the Radford women's basketball team will take on Gardner-Webb in a 5 p.m. matchup Saturday afternoon at Paul Porter Arena.

THE SERIES
♦ Gardner-Webb leads the all-time series 5-4.  Each possess a 2-2 record at home and on the road, but the Runnin' Bulldogs have the advantage due to a win in the 2009 Big South Tournament.  Three games have been decided in overtime, including two of the last three contests.

THE OPENING TIP
♦ Radford has set the Big South precedent in steals with 12.9 per game.  The Highlanders also rank second in turnover margin (+2.9) and third in offensive rebounds (16.8).
♦ With her next assist, Da'Naria Erwin Spencer, currently with 235, would break into Radford's all-time top-10 in career assists.  With eight more, she would rank eighth all-time.
♦ Erwin Spencer paces the Highlander offense with 16.6 points per game while Ashley Buckhannon drops in 14.4 points.  Furthermore, Erwin Spencer is just 79 points shy of 1,000 for her career, looking to become only the fourth player in Radford history to hit the mark by the conclusion of her junior year.  She is on pace to hit the mark at home against Coastal Carolina Feb. 11.
Victoria Hamilton leads the Highlanders in rebounds with 7.1 per game and has posted 10 or more in five games.
♦ Buckhannon, Ayana Avery and Katherine Brockett have combined for 221 of Radford's 253 three-point attempts (.874).  In addition, the trio has 74 of the Highlanders' 80 (.925) makes from long range.

LAST TIME OUT
♦ Radford got 17 points from Buckhannon and 14 from Erwin Spencer to blow past Presbyterian, 53-29.  The 84 total points tied a Dedmon Center record for fewest combined points in a game.  The Highlander defense dialed up the pressure and forced the Blue Hose to only make 25 percent of its attempts (12-47).  In addition, the Highlanders forced 25 turnovers and had 20 steals.

SCOUTING THE RUNNIN' BULLDOGS
♦ Gardner-Webb enters Saturday's matchup 2-15 overall and 1-6 in the Big South.
