RADFORD, VA. -- Radford will begin a three-game road trip and continue conference play Thursday evening with a 7 p.m. contest at Winthrop.

The Highlanders enter 3-13 overall and 0-4 in the Big South following a 66-56 setback to UNC Asheville on Monday.

After falling behind 50-39, Radford slowly chipped away at the deficit to tie the score, 54-54, on a Chance Smith (Roanoke, Va.) 3-pointer with 4:05 to go. The Bulldogs, who were held without a field goal for almost seven minutes in the second half, closed on a 12-2 run.

R.J. Price (Richmond, Va., Atlee), who is averaging 15.6 points over his last six contests, led the Highlanders with 13 points, seven assists and four steals.

Radford is looking for its first league win since defeating Winthrop, 66-56, at the Dedmon Center on Feb. 1, 2011.

The Eagles come in 4-10 overall and 1-2 in the league after back-to-back overtime losses, including one to Asheville on New Year's Eve.

Andre Jones leads Winthrop and ranks second among conference leaders in scoring, averaging 19.1 points per outing.

After a seven-day break, Radford will continue its road swing next Thursday at in-state / league-rival Liberty.
