RADFORD, Va. –
Fresh off its three-match road trip, the Radford volleyball team will enjoy three straight matches inside the cozy confines of the Dedmon Center. The Highlanders will square off with Winthrop at 7:00 p.m. Friday and Presbyterian at 4:00 p.m. Saturday.

SCOUTING THE EAGLES
♦  The 44th meeting all-time between Winthrop and Radford will take place Friday, with the Highlanders leading the series, 25-18. WU invades the Dedmon Center as one of the hottest teams in the Big South. The Eagles have won three matches in a row.

♦  Winthrop is led by Jennica Mullins' 2.37 kills per set. Two other Eagles register over two kills per set - Stephanie Palmer (2.24) and Rachel Lenz (2.04). Palmer also serves as the lead setter for WU, dishing out 504 dimes on the season. Catherine Brusie fuels the defensive efforts for the Eagles, charting 4.34 digs per set, while Mullins rejects 1.34 attacks per set.

SCOUTING THE BLUE HOSE
♦  Saturday's encounter will mark the 10th meeting all-time between Presbyterian and the Highlanders, with the Blue Hose leading 6-3. PC is on a torrid streak as well having won six out of its last eight matches.

♦  A trio put down over two kills per set for the Blue Hose, led by Presley Mabrey's 3.03 ledger. Allison Brown and Rachel Hall register 2.45 and 2.35 kills per set, respectively. Ashtin Frank has accumulated 783 assists on the year, while Mary Trimpe has served up 35 aces. Trimpe also leads the defensive efforts for PC, charting 4.62 digs per set.

LAST TIME OUT
♦  The Radford volleyball team rebounded in a big way Saturday evening, taking down Charleston Southern in straight sets (25-23, 25-23, 25-19) to record its ninth sweep of the season inside the Buccaneer Field House. The Highlanders improve to 13-11, 3-4 in Big South play, while the Buccaneers fall to 10-14, 3-4 in league action.

Jesse Miedema and Rachel Fertitta led RU in the kills department with 10 apiece. A trio of Highlanders tallied double-digit digs, led by Yacine Meyer's 16. Emily Carlin and Katelyn Meeks were credited with 15 and 12 digs, respectively. Jena Braden (19) and Christine Beckham (15) combined for 34 assists.

ON DECK
♦  The Highlanders conclude their three-match homestand with in-state foe Liberty. The Lady Flames and Radford will hook up for the second time this season after LU claimed a 3-0 decision last month inside the Vines Center.

YA DIG?
♦  Katelyn Meeks certainly knows how to as she was selected Big South Defensive Player of the Week last Monday. The honor was the senior's fourth accolade from the league office in her stellar career.

♦  In addition to her Big South honor, Meeks took over the top spot in career digs at Radford during the fourth set of last week's match at Coastal Carolina. The Richmond, Va. native surpassed Lauren Clary (1,378) and now has 1,394 digs in her career.

♦  Meeks has also made a name for herself behind the service line, racking up 102 aces during her career. The 102 aces rank third in Radford volleyball history.

WELCOME TO THE BLOCK PARTY
♦  Emma Deininger has picked up right where she left off in her freshman campaign, climbing up the career record charts for blocks. The sophomore middle blocker is currently fifth in program history with 163 block assists. Deininger ranks fifth in total blocks with 184 thus far in her career.

♦  Jesse Miedema has climbed into the Top-10 for block assists and total blocks in her junior year. The Huron, Ohio native is seventh in block assists (139) and 10th in total blocks (149).

LET ME HELP YOU WITH THAT
♦  Sophomores Christine Beckham and Jena Braden will no doubt leave Radford as two of the program's greatest setters as both rank in the Top-6 in assists for a career. Beckham has accumulated 972 in her two years, while classmate Braden is credited with 773.
