MEN’S GOLF ENDS FALL SEASON AT WENDY’S KIAWAH CLASSIC

RADFORD, Va. – Coming off a fourth-place finish at the ODU/OBX Invitational, the Radford men's golf team concludes its fall slate at the Wendy's Kiawah Classic hosted by Charleston Southern Sunday-Tuesday (Oct. 28-30). The 54-hole event will be contested at the Kiawah Island Resort's Turtle Point Golf Course (par 71, 7,011 yards).
Leading the way will be reigning Big South Men's Golfer of the Week, Weston Eklund. The 47th-ranked golfer in the nation will tee-off in the top spot. Eklund is coming off a career-best performance at the Outer Banks where he tied for medalist honors with a 9-under-par 207 (73-64-70). The redshirt-senior has carded seven sub-par rounds through nine rounds this fall and leads the Big South with his 69.6 scoring average.
Playing in the two spot is junior Callum Tarren, who has two Top-20 performances to his credit this fall. His 71.9 scoring average ranks fourth in the Big South.
Playing in the third and fourth positions, respectively, will be Conner Hayden and Matt Harman. Hayden matched his career-low of 1-under-par in the final round of the ODU/OBX Invitational to tie for 37th. Harman also tied for 37th after firing rounds of 75, 73 and 77. Tanner Carbaugh will hold down the fifth spot after carding a 225 (79-71-75) in the last tournament to tie for 37th.
Joining Radford and Charleston Southern in the 26-team field will be Boise State, Bradley, Butler, Campbell (defending champion), College of Charleston, Connecticut, Francis Marion, George Washington, High Point, Jacksonville State, Loyola (Md.), Marquette, Mount St. Mary's, Presbyterian, South Carolina, St. John's, Stetson, Towson, USC Upstate, Utah Valley, Western Kentucky, Williams & Mary, Winthrop, and Wisconsin.
The Highlanders are paired with Boise State and St. John's for the first round Sunday. RU, the Broncos and the Red Storm begin their rounds at 10:10 a.m. off the first tee. Live scoring will be provided by Golfstat and can be viewed by clicking here.
