BOX SCORE RADFORD, Va. - Radford scored the first 17 points of the game, and all 14 players on the roster saw plenty of minutes Wednesday as the Highlanders defeated Brevard, 81-53, in a pre-Thanksgiving matinee at the Dedmon Center.

"We were intense out of the locker room and kept that intesity throughout the majority of the game," head coach Mike Jones said. "We showed patience, executed and didn't force things."

The Highlanders (3-3) made six of their first nine shots, including two three-point baskets by sophomore R.J. Price, who finished with a career-high six treys en route to a game-high 20 points. Price finished 7-12 from the field and 6-10 from deep in just 18 minutes of play. He also had three steals and a pair of assists.

Green's most impressive stat of the day was his 3-3 performance at the free throw line. The sophomore entered the game hitting just 51 percent from the charity stripe.

Another sophomore, Jalen Carethers, set career highs with 12 points and a game-high seven rebounds earning post-game praise from his head coach. He finished 6-6 from the field and four of his rebounds came on the offensive glass.

"Jalen was locked in an engaged today," Jones said.

Freshman Taj Owens scored a career-high eight points with three assists.

RU's pressure defense led to 25 Brevard turnovers and a 33-8 advantage in points off those miscues and a 21-4 edge in fast break points. Radford turned the ball over just eight times on the afternoon. The Highlanders also grabbed 20 offensive rebounds that led to a 21-9 advantage in second chance points.
