RADFORD, Va. –
After a successful 2-0 return to the Dedmon Center, the Radford women's basketball team hits the road for its final non-conference matchup, a Dec. 16 battle at Clemson. Tipoff is slated for 2:00 p.m. from Littlejohn Coliseum.

MEET THE TIGERS

♦ Becoming the third ACC foe RU has faced this season, the Lady Tigers conclude their three-game homestand Sunday with the Highlanders. During this stretch, Clemson won its lone contest of the season (87-58 over Jacksonville).
♦ Danaejah Grant (13.4) leads two Lady Tigers in double-digit scoring. Nikki Dixon provides the other double-figure performer at 11.3 points per game.
♦ Jonquel Jones pulls down a team-best 10.0 rebounds per contest.
♦ Clemson has three players shooting better than 40 percent from the floor, led by Nyilah Jamison-Myers (57.9 percent).
♦ The Lady Tigers enter Sunday's tilt averaging 56.0 points per contest, while giving up 59.0 points per outing to its opponents.
♦ While its offense carries a 34.9-percent shooting clip, Clemson's defense holds its opposition to an average of 34.4 percent from the hardwood.

SERIES HISTORY

♦ The all-time series between Radford and Clemson dates back to Jan. 18, 1988 with the Lady Tigers leading 4-0. In their last meeting (Jan. 14, 1991), Clemson prevailed 90-45 at home.

WHAT'S NEXT

♦ The Highlanders return home to jump back into Big South competition when they host league newcomer Longwood (Dec. 29) at 4:30 p.m. inside the Dedmon Center. RU was defeated by Longwood last season, 73-59, in a non-conference clash in Farmville.

LAST TIME OUT

♦ Behind Victoria Hamilton's double-double (10 points and 11 rebounds), Radford secured a 73-50 decision in non-conference women's basketball action Thursday night inside the Dedmon Center.
♦ Hamilton's double-double marks the first of the season for a Highlander and is the fourth of her career. The senior was one of four double-figure scorers for Radford.
Ashley Buckhannon paced the offensive attack with 17 points on 6-of-12 shooting. The Wytheville, Va. native drained four trifectas on the night to move into sole possession of third place in 3-pointers made in Radford women's basketball history. Her career total has risen to 124, two ahead of Kelli Tull (122 / 1996-2000).
♦ Freshman Aisha Foy continued her stellar play with 13 points on 5-of-10 shooting, while Jordynn Gaymon contributed 11 points via a 4-of-8 clip.
♦ Once NSU cut its deficit to four (12-8) at the 12:41 mark of the first half, the Highlanders' defense stifled the opposition's offense for the next nine minutes, while embarking on a 17-3 streak to establish a 29-11 advantage.
♦ Over the remaining three minutes of the half, Radford was held to just a La-She' Walker layup while the Spartans made a charge of their own to shrink the margin to 12 (31-19) at the break.
♦ After Norfolk State got to within nine (47-38) of the Highlanders, a Gaymon layup jumpstarted a 14-2 surge to give Radford a 61-40 cushion with 6:14 to go in the contest. The Spartans were unable to get any closer than 18 the rest of the way as the hosts improved to 3-1 inside the Dedmon Center this season.

TIS' THE SEASON TO BE FOY-FUL

♦ After averaging 9.0 points per game, including a season-high performance against William & Mary, last Saturday, Aisha Foy was selected The Crons Brand Big South Freshman of the Week.
♦ The Virginia Beach, Va. native dialed up a season-high 16 points on 4-of-6 shooting from 3-point land to go along with a 4-for-4 performance from the charity stripe in the Highlanders' 72-55 victory over the Tribe. Foy added two rebounds and a steal in 14 minutes of action.
♦ Foy shot lights out from the floor last week, connecting on 63 percent of her attempts. The honor is her first Big South Freshman of the Week plaudit this season.
