HIGHLANDERS TAKE WINNING STREAK ON THE ROAD TO DELAWARE

RADFORD, Va. - Radford takes its three-game winning streak on the road Tuesday as the Highlanders face Delaware in Newark, Del. at the Bob Carpenter Center. Tip is set for 7:00 p.m., and RU fans can listen live on the RU Sports Radio Network. The network includes WRVU 89.9 FM / WBLB 1340 AM and on-line at radfordathletics.com.

THE SERIES
♦ The Highlanders and the Blue Hens have met only one other time, the opening game of the 2011-12 season and Mike Jones' first career game as a head coach. RU won that game, played on 11/11/11, 58-54 in the Dedmon Center.
♦ Radford is 18-40 all-time vs. the Colonial Athletic Association.
♦ RU has never lost to a team from the state of Delaware (3-0). The Highlanders own a 1-0 series record vs. Delaware, Delaware State, and Wilmington College.

TIDBITS
♦ RU last won back-to-back road games in the 2009-10 season (2/2/10 at VMI and 2/16/10 at Liberty).

SCOUTING THE BLUE HENS
♦ Delaware is 2-6 on the season and has dropped five straight since knocking off Virginia in Charlottesville, 59-53 on Nov. 13. The Blue Hens earned their way to the semifinals of the Preseason NIT Tip-Off Tournament with their two wins on the season over Penn and UVA.
♦ The win at Virginia was the first win over an ACC opponent for UD in a half century.
♦ The Blue Hens fell 66-63 to Kansas State in the semifinals of the Preseason NIT at New York's Madison Square Garden.
♦ Tuesday's game is the home-opener for the Blue Hens.
♦ Devon Saddler is one of the leading scorers in the nation at 21.6 points per game. He scored 23 at Duke on Saturday.
♦ Jamelle Hagins averages a double-double at 12.1 points and 12.5 rebounds per game.
♦ Last year UD finished the season 18-14 overall and 12-6 in the CAA. The Blue Hens lost in the opening round of the CBI Tournament to Butler.

STATS NOTABLES
Javonte Green leads the Big South in steals per game at 3.1. He set a career personal best with six thefts vs. Hampton.
♦ Green already ranks #10 all-time in RU history with 114 career offensive rebounds.
♦ Green notched his ninth career double-double and second of the season vs. Hampton.
Blake Smith needs one steal to tie assistant coach, Chris Hawkins ('92), for 4th on the all-time career ledger for the Highlanders. Smith has 166 steals for his career. Smith currently ranks 3rd all-time at RU in steals per game (1.8 in 92 games). Hawkins holds the career mark in that category at 1.9 per game (167 in 87 games).
R.J. Price is averaging 3.5 assists per game for his career. That ranks him 8th all-time in career numbers just behind Hawkins, who is 7th all-time at RU with 3.6 per game.
♦ Price had 13 points and six rebounds last year in his first career collegiate game vs. Delaware. The six rebounds is still tied for his career individual game best.

RADFORD'S LAST TIME OUT
♦ Radford won its third straight game and remained undefeated at home with a 73-64 victory over Hampton.
Javonte Green led RU with 22 points, 10 rebounds, six steals, and two blocked shots. He was 9-10 from the field.
♦ Radford spotted the Pirates the first five points of the game, and then answered with a 14-0 run and maintained that momentum throughout much of the first half. The Highlanders stretched the lead to as many as 18 at 39-21 with 3:15 left in the first half.
♦ The Pirates, however, responded as well, scoring the final 12 points of the half to close to 39-33 at the intermission. After Hampton scored the first six points of the second half the RU lead had evaporated.
♦ Price finished with 17 points, and Ya Ya Anderson chipped in with 10 off the bench, but it was the play of Green that shined on this night.
♦ Green already led the Big South Conference in steals coming into the game, and he built on those numbers with a career-high performance with six. His two blocks also tied a career high. He registered his second double-double of the season.
