LATE RUN LEADS HIGH POINT PAST RADFORD, 71-62

BOX SCORE HIGH POINT, N.C. – Nick Barbour scored a game-high 24 points and High Point used a late run to get by Radford, 71-62, in Big South men's basketball action Tuesday evening at the Millis Center.
 
Barbour drilled five 3-pointers, went 9-of-11 from the line and netted 20 of his points after intermission, to give him 50 second-half points against the Highlanders in two games this season.
 
The Panthers also got 11 points each from Shay Shine and Corey Law, while Branimir Mikulic added 10.
 
High Point (11-16, 7-10 Big South) grabbed control of the back and forth contest with a 17-5 streak, highlighted by three straight 3-pointers, including two from Barbour to go up, 59-47, with 3:15 to play.
 
The Highlanders cut the deficit to five, 63-58, on a
R.J. Price triple with 1:03 remaining, but was unable to inch closer.
 
Before the Panthers' game-changing run, neither team led by more than four in a game that featured six ties and 10 lead changes.
 
Price paced Radford (5-23, 2-14 Big South) with 14 points, while Javonte Green and Blake Smith contributed 12 each.
 
In addition to shooting 56.6 percent in the second half to finish at 44.9 percent, the Panthers went 20-of-26 from the charity stripe.
 
The Highlanders shot just 37.5 percent and trailed 40-28 on the glass.
 
Both clubs shot 35 percent in the first half as they traded the lead six times before going to the break with High Point leading, 27-26.
 
Radford returns to the Dedmon Center Saturday afternoon for a 4 p.m. Bracketbusters matchup with Binghamton.
