WOMEN’S BASKETBALL TRAVELS TO PRESBYTERIAN SATURDAY

RADFORD, Va. Radford women's basketball will put its seven-game winning streak on the line Saturday when the Highlanders travel to Presbyterian for a 3 p.m. tip-off at the Templeton Center. 
 
SERIES HISTORY
♦ Radford has taken all 10 meetings with Presbyterian all-time.  The Highlanders are also 4-0 in Clinton, S.C.
 
THE OPENING TIP
♦ Radford is currently on a seven-game winning streak, the longest overall streak since 2006-07 and longest in league play since 1992-93.  The streak began with a 53-29 win over Presbyterian at home on Jan. 23.
♦ After a 1-5 start, the Highlanders found themselves in ninth place in the conference standings.  Since then, Radford has propelled into third with five games remaining.
♦ Radford leads the Big South in steals and ranks ninth in the nation with 12.6 per game.  The Highlanders have recorded 10 or more steals in 17 of 24 games.
♦ Fresh off her 11th 20-point outing of the season, the Big South's third leading scorer Da'Naria Erwin Spencer paces the offense with 17.4 points per game while Ashley Buckhannon drops in 14.5 points.  Buckhannon also tallied her 17th double-digit scoring performance this year against Charleston Southern.
♦ Victoria Hamilton and Sarah Tabb lead the Highlanders in rebounds with 7.3 and 5.9 per game, respectively.  Over the last seven games, Hamilton, Tabb and Ashia Holmes have collected 128 of Radford's 255 boards and 55 of 101 offensive rebounds.
 
LAST TIME OUT
♦ In a 73-66 triumph over Charleston Southern, Erwin Spencer charted 23 points, while Buckhannon tallied 16 points and Ayana Avery added 10 off the bench as Radford won its seventh straight game. Hamilton pulled down 9 rebounds while frontcourt mate Tabb grabbed 8.  Radford led by as many as 14 in the second half and knocked down six late free throws to seal the win.
 
SCOUTING THE BLUE HOSE
♦ Winners of three straight on the road, Presbyterian enters 11-12 overall and 5-7 in league play. 
♦ Mariah Pietrowski is the lone player averaging double figures with 11.4 points per game.  In conference play, Pietrowski scores 12.3 points per game, while Karlee Taylor nets 11.0 points in league games and shoots 40 percent from long range.
♦ Sherece Smith leads the club with 5.9 rebounds per game and grabs 6.4 against conference opposition.
