After missing a pair of free throws that could've evened the score, Green knocked down a long jumper off a Blake Smith offensive rebound, then came away with a steal that led to a dunk on the next possession to put Radford (5-21, 2-12 Big South) up for good.

Green, who battled foul trouble the entire night, led the Highlanders' balanced attack with 12 points on 6-of-11 shooting, while Johnathan Edwards had his most productive game since returning from injury with 11 points.

Radford also got nine points from both Jareal Smith and Blake Smith, while R.J. Price added a season-high 10 assists.

After falling behind 37-30 early in the second half, Radford reeled off eight unanswered to go in front, 38-37, and set up the back and forth period.

Along with shooting 42 percent for the game, the Highlanders held Gardner-Webb (10-16, 5-9 Big South) to just six field goals in the second half.

The two teams combined for 52 free throw attempts. Radford finished 13-of-22 at the stripe, while the Runnin' Bulldogs weren't much better connecting on 63 percent (19-30) of their tries.

Tashan Newsome paced Gardner-Webb with a game-high 14 points, which included an 8-of-12 showing at the line.

The Runnin' Bulldogs scored the last seven points of the opening half, including back-to-back treys by Laron Buggs and Strange to take a 31-24 lead into the break.

Despite the loss, Gardner-Webb held a 35-28 advantage on the glass.

Tonight's game featured seven ties and 10 lead changes.

Radford will continue its road trip Saturday afternoon with a 4:30 p.m. tip at league-leading UNC Asheville.
