TARREN GUIDES RADFORD ON FIRST DAY OF COCA-COLA WOFFORD INVITATIONAL

RESULTS

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Callum Tarren's two-over 146 paced the Radford men's golf team on the first day of the Coca-Cola Wofford Invitational on Monday.
 
Tarren tied his season-low at 146 and is currently tied for 29th in a 90-player field.  He carded a first-round 74, and then returned in the second round to record an even-par 72. 
 
Collectively, Radford (591) had a 299 in the first round and rebounded with a 292 over the final 18 holes.  The Highlanders' group of four currently sits in a tie for 12th place heading into final-round action.  Radford is just ten shots out of 7th place.
 
Michael Wade wasn't far behind Tarren, placing in a tie for 34th overall.  Following a first-round 76, he handed in his team-leading 14th round in the red with a one-under 71 to total 147 (+3). 
 
Weston Eklund was a shot back of Wade with rounds of 73 and 75, respectively, and is tied for 38th.
 
Also competing for Radford in the regular season finale is Tanner Carbaugh and Ryan Rettberg.  Each charted a 153 36-hole tally.  Carbaugh handed in scores of 79 and 74, while Rettberg had 76 and 77 to go nine-over in his second event of the year.   
 
The 24th-annual event is being played at The Country Club of Spartanburg on a par-72, 6,648-yard course.  17 teams accompany the Highlanders – Appalachian State, Campbell, Charleston Southern, Davidson, East Tennessee State, Elon, Gardner-Webb, High Point, James Madison, Longwood, Presbyterian, Radford, Richmond, Samford, Stetson, USC Upstate and host Wofford (two teams).
 
The final 18 holes of action get underway tomorrow morning.
