VOLLEYBALL PREPARES FOR BULLDOG OF A WEEKEND IN THE MOUNTAINS OF CAROLINA

RADFORD, Va. – After claiming a 3-1 non-conference victory on Tuesday over N.C. Central, the Radford volleyball team jumps back into Big South competition with the Bulldogs of the league. UNC Asheville welcomes the Highlanders on Friday for a 7:00 p.m. contest, before Gardner-Webb entertains RU on Saturday at 2:00 p.m.

SCOUTING THE BULLDOGS
♦ The 47th meeting all-time between UNC Asheville and Radford will take place Friday, with the Bulldogs leading the series, 25-21.

♦ UNCA is led by Holly Shelton with 2.85 kills per set and Anna Moore with 2.46 kills per set. Moore has also contributed a team-high 16 aces this year. Katie Davis is the lead setter for the Bulldogs, assisting on 511 attacks thus far. Alex Stewart puts out 3.18 digs per set, while Moore blocks nearly one attack per set.

SCOUTING THE RUNNIN' BULLDOGS
♦ Saturday's encounter will mark the ninth meeting all-time between Gardner-Webb and the Highlanders, with RU leading 6-2.

♦ Tyler Cockrell puts down 2.48 kills per set to lead the Runnin' Bulldogs, while rejecting nearly one attack per set. Heather Feldman has amassed 607 assists for the season, while Anna Pashkova is credited with 3.85 digs per set. Emily Holte has served up a team-high 19 aces through 18 matches.

LAST TIME OUT
♦ Junior Jesse Miedema knocked down a career-high 14 kills, while hitting over 66 percent, to lead the Highlanders to a 3-1 (20-25, 25-6, 25-10, 25-20) win over N.C. Central on Tuesday night inside the Dedmon Center.

♦ In addition to her kills mark, Miedema contributed five block assists in the outing. Cheyanne James totaled 11 kills and eight digs, while Yacine Meyer just missed a double-double with nine kills and a match-high 13 digs.

ON DECK
♦ Radford returns to the Dedmon Center next week for Homecoming 2012. The squad hosts High Point on Friday at 7:00 p.m., before squaring off against Campbell on Saturday at 4:00 p.m.
