MATCH NOTES
LIVE STATS

RADFORD, Va. –
The Radford volleyball team wraps up its season-high four-match homestand on Tuesday with a non-conference clash with Elon at 7:00 p.m. inside the Dedmon Center.

SCOUTING THE PHOENIX
♦  Elon enters the Tuesday matchup with a 3-4 ledger, after going 2-1 in its home tournament over the weekend. After losing their first three matches of 2012, the Phoenix reeled off three straight to get back to .500. In its last time out, Elon fell to Alabama in straight sets (25-15, 25-18, 25-17).

♦  Tuesday's contest marks the 21st meeting all-time between the two borderline rivals, with Radford owning the 14-6 advantage.

♦  The Highlanders and the Phoenix have one common opponent thus far in Hampton - the Pirates defeated Elon in five sets, while downing Radford in four. The two squads met last season with Elon taking the three-set victory.

♦  The Phoenix are led by sophomore middle blocker Kris Harris, who puts down three kills per set and carries a 42-percent attack clip. Ana Nicksic is the lead setter for Elon with nearly nine assists per set. Ali Deatsch charts over three digs per set to fuel the Phoenix defense.

HIGHLANDERS GO 2-1 IN HOME TOURNAMENT
♦  Radford breezed by St. Francis (Pa.), 3-0, and outlasted The Citadel, 3-2, in its first two matches of the La Quinta Inn and Suites Highlander Invitational.

♦  In the title tilt, Murray State handed the Highlanders their first straight-set loss of the season by scores of 25-21, 25-23 and 25-16. Emma Deininger (Wallingford, Pa., Strath Haven) was named to the all-tournament team.

ON DECK
♦  Radford (4-3) travels to the “wild and wonderful” state of West Virginia on Friday and Saturday for the Golden Horseshoe Challenge hosted by WVU in Morgantown. While there, the Highlanders will face Wright State, the Mountaineers and St. Peter's.
