RADFORD, Va. – Four members of the Radford men's tennis team are set for action at the ITA Atlantic Regional, which begins Thursday at Virginia Tech's Burrows-Burleson Tennis Center in Blacksburg, Va.
Competition for the main draw starts Friday with at least three Highlanders in action in singles and all four in doubles. Javier Waase opens the tournament Thursday for RU with his 12 p.m. singles match against Niels Kathel of James Madison for the right to advance to the main draw.
In Friday's opening round of singles matches, Joe Mills takes on Georgetown's Yannik Mahlangu. Nicholas Sayer and Patrick O'Keefe received first-round byes. With two more wins, Sayer will pass Arthur Vasarevic for third all-time in career singles victories. The senior has 76 entering this weekend.
Sayer and O'Keefe collide with Virginia's Alex Scheinman and Jonathan Cornish, while Mills and Waase clash with Navy's Calvin Mark and Blake Daniel in doubles competition.
Virginia Tech will provide live stats of matches as they are completed throughout each day.
