RADFORD, Va. – The Radford men's tennis team is back in action Friday-Sunday at the UVa Fall Classic hosted by the Cavaliers at the Snyder Tennis Center. Action gets underway at 9 a.m. each day.
The tournament features seven singles flights and seven doubles flights. The Highlanders and Virginia are two of 21 schools to have players competing at this year's event. Binghamton, Bucknell, College of Charleston, Coastal Carolina, Cornell, East Tennessee State, George Mason, George Washington, James Madison, Liberty, Longwood, Norfolk State, Old Dominion, Penn State, Princeton, VCU, Virginia Tech, Wake Forest and William & Mary are also sending competitors to Charlottesville.
Nicholas Sayer, who is tied with Mehdi Benhammou for sixth all-time in career singles victories in program history with 73, opens the tournament as the third seed in the Blue Singles bracket against Jai Corbett of Virginia Tech at 2 p.m. Joe Mills is in the White Singles bracket and will face Cornell's Philip Antohi at noon.
In his first singles action as a Highlander, Daniel Myers clashes with Wake Forest's Nolan Bauer in the Black Singles flight at 10:30 a.m. Seeded No. 1 in the Red Singles bracket, Patrick O'Keefe battles Aaron Capitel of George Mason at 10:30 a.m. Javier Waase opens play in the Green Singles flight at 10:30 a.m. against Penn State's Rami Labna.
In doubles action, Sayer and O'Keefe will face the Demon Deacons' Max Kan and Nicky Kunz at 9 a.m. in the Orange Doubles bracket. Mills and Waase are pitted against ETSU's Ricardo Pabon and Connor Knox in the Black Doubles flight, which also starts at 9 a.m.
