RADFORD, Va. –
The Radford women's basketball team will be searching to return to the win column when the squad travels down Interstate 77 to battle Wake Forest in Friday's 7 p.m. nonconference contest inside Joel Coliseum.

MEET THE DEMON DEACONS
» Wake Forest evened its record Tuesday night following a 69-66 triumph over visiting Davidson. Junior Dearica Hamby scored 16 points and grabbed 12 rebounds for her third-straight double-double to lead the Demon Deacons.
» Hamby averages a double-double for Wake Forest, dropping in 19.8 ppg and 11.3 rpg.
» Preseason All-ACC pick Chelsea Douglas paces the scoring for the Deacs, chalking up 23.5 ppg. The senior has hit 16-of-38 (42.1 percent) from beyond the arc.
» Douglas is the top returning scoring point guard in the ACC. She led the team in scoring last season at 14.6 ppg and earned her first All-ACC honor. Douglas made 72 3-pointers, which were third-best in the league and were also the third-highest total in school history.
» The Demon Deacons are averaging 68.5 ppg while allowing 73 ppg.
» Wake Forest is guided by second-year head coach Jennifer Hoover, who is the Demon Deacons' all-time leading scorer and rebounder. She was named the school's 10th women's basketball head coach in May of 2012. Hoover came to Wake Forest after one season at the helm of Big South rival High Point. In her one season with the Panthers, Hoover guided HPU to a 20-13 record and just the school's second appearance in the WNIT. The 20 wins were tied for the most in a single season since High Point moved to Division I in 1999. Hoover was named the 2012 Spalding Maggie Dixon Division I Rookie Coach of the Year. Then Hoover returned to Wake Forest where she starred for the Demon Deacons from 1987-91. She was a three-time All-ACC selection who still holds the school's career records for points (1,728) and rebounds (1,006).

WAKE FOREST SERIES AT A GLANCE
» Although Radford is 3-6 all-time against the Demon Deacons, two of its wins have come in Winston-Salem.
» The Highlanders' last win against Wake Forest occurred in 2007.

UP NEXT
» Radford plays its second ACC opponent of the season next Wednesday at 7 p.m. when the Highlanders visit Littlejohn Coliseum to challenge Clemson. The Tigers defeated RU last year, 74-55.
