HIGHLANDERS VS. HIGHLANDERS MONDAY AT DEDMON CENTER

After winning the upper division title at the Continental Tire Las Vegas Classic with a 64-63 victory over Florida Gulf Coast and pushing its record to 8-4 for the first time in two decades, the Radford men's basketball team returns to the Dedmon Center on Monday to face Houghton in a doubleheader with the women's team. The women's game vs. Coastal Carolina begins at 3 p.m. with the men's to follow at 5:30.


SERIES NOTES
• This will be the first meeting all-time with the Highlanders. Houghton College is an NCAA Division III school located in Houghton, N.Y. and is a member of the Empire 8 Conference.
• For the first time in Radford basketball history, RU is playing another team with the Highlanders as a mascot.

RU vs. NON-DIVISION I SCHOOLS
• Radford has won 28 straight games against non-Division I teams. The last non-Division I team to defeat the Highlanders was Concord in the opening game of the 1997-98 season, 104-86.
• In all, since transitioning to Division I in the 1984-85 season, Radford is 58-6 against non-Division I opponents.
• Mike Jones is 7-0 against non-Division I opponents, including victories over Brevard and Central Penn earlier this season.

PROJECTED STARTING LINEUP
• The projected lineup (R.J. Price, Ya Ya Anderson, Kyle Noreen, Javonte Green, and Brandon Holcomb) has started together 15 times overall and 10 times (7-3) this season. RU is 9-6 in those previous 15 games. Mike Jones has used three different starting lineups during the season.

SCOUTING THE HIGHLANDERS (HOUGHTON)
• Houghton is 3-5 on the season and has won three straight after beginning the season 0-5.
• HC is averaging over 90 points per game in their three victories.
• HC is averaging 65.0 points per game in their five losses.
• Brandon Camacho (13.4), Tyler McQuaid (13.3), and Johnathan Stowe (10.0) all average in double figures scoring.
• McQuaid averages 7.4 rebounds per game as well to lead the team. Stowe averaged 1.5 blocks per game.

MILESTONES
• With 8 rebounds at Binghamton, Javonte Green surpassed 500 for his career. He now has 547 (12th all-time in RU history).
• Countdown to 1,000 career points: Javonte Green needs 7 (993), R.J. Price needs 64 (936). There are currently 19 members of the 1,000-point club in Radford basketball history.

QUICK NOTES
• RU has won four straight games at the Dedmon Center (4-0 this season).
• Javonte Green ranks 5th all-time at RU with 208 career offensive rebounds.
• Javonte Green has 16 career double-doubles.
• Brandon Holcomb set a career high with 10 points at Santa Clara and tied a season high with 10 rebounds at UNLV on the West Coast road trip.
• R.J. Price ranks 8th all-time in career three-point field goals made with 175. He tied career highs with 30 points and 6 three-pointers vs. Sacred Heart.
• Rashun Davis set a career high with 20 points vs. Sacred Heart.
• Jalen Carethers tied a career high with 12 points vs. Sacred Heart.
• Ya Ya Anderson, who set a career high with 33 points on 9-11 shooting from behind the arc against Central Penn, ranks first in the Big South and 7th in the country in three-point shooting percentage (56.4% at the last ranking thru 12/15).
• As a team, the Highlanders rank 21st in the country averaging 9.0 steals per game.
• RU is 1-4 all-time in neutral site games under Mike Jones with its victory coming last season over Kennesaw State at the Eastern Kentucky Invitational in Richmond, Ky.

• Javonte Green - 2013-14 Preseason All-Big South Second Team; 2012-13 All-Big South Second Team, becoming the first all-conference selection under Mike Jones.
