HIGHLANDERS CLOSE OUT 2013 WITH COASTAL CAROLINA

RADFORD, Va.  – Radford will strive to end 2013 on a high note when it returns to the court Monday afternoon for a 3 p.m. Big South women's basketball tilt against Coastal Carolina inside the Dedmon Center.

MEET THE CHANTICLEERS
» Coastal remained unbeaten in conference competition by downing Longwood, 83-53, Saturday afternoon in Farmville, Va.
» The Chanticleers enter Monday's game 6-5 overall under the direction of first-year head coach Jaida Williams. She became Coastal's sixth head coach in its 40-year history on April 11. Williams spent the 2012-13 season on the sidelines at Wake Forest as an assistant coach and the recruiting coordinator where she built a top-20 recruiting class.
» In their six games away from The HTC Center, the Chants are 2-4.
» Junior guard AJ Jordan directs the Coastal offense at 17.7 points per game, which rank second in the Big South. Angelica Henry is ninth at 12.1 points per outing and second in assists (4.91).
» In addition to averaging 11.5 points per game, Alexx Puckett is the Chants' top rebounder at 5.9 per contest.
» Coastal average 75.3 points per game (leads Big South), while surrendering 71.7 each time out (most in Big South). The Chants convert 41.4 percent of their attempts from the hardwood, including 35.8 percent from downtown (tops in Big South). They rank second in free-throw shooting at 72.6 percent.
» At 10.1 steals per game, Coastal leads the league in thefts.
 
COASTAL CAROLINA SERIES AT A GLANCE
» Radford has been impressive in the all-time series with Coastal Carolina, gaining a 40-17 edge. The Highlanders have been even more difficult to defeat at home, holding a 25-4 favor. The two sides split the series last season as both teams won on their home floors.
