RADFORD DROPS ROAD GAME AT LONGWOOD

BOX SCORE FARMVILLE, Va. - Radford shot just 26 percent in the first half while Longwood hit 56 percent, and the Highlanders could not overcome a 15-point halftime deficit as the Lancers defeated RU, 76-61.

Longwood scored the first five points and never trailed in the contest. The Highlanders opened the game hitting one of their first 10 shots, and the Lancers stormed to a 22-9 lead at the midway point of the first half.

RU was led by R.J. Price and Javonte Green with 14 and 13 points, respectively. Green added a team-high seven rebounds. Longwood got double-double performances from Tristan Carey with 31 points and 10 rebounds, and Lucas Woodhouse with 12 points and 11 assists.

"We gave them a lot of confidence early by allowing them to hit easy shots," Radford head coach Mike Jones said. "Our guys didn't play with confidence, and they did."

The loss snaps a two-game winning streak for the Highlanders.

Radford outrebounded the Lancers 42-36 and grabbed 21 offensive rebounds, but shot just 20-65 from the field. Longwood hit 25-50 from the field.

"We never really put together a consistent run to get back into the game," Jones said. "It was a frustrating day."

Radford returns home Tuesday night in a crucial Big South North Division matchup with Campbell. Tip is set for 7:00 p.m. at the Dedmon Center.
