RADFORD, Va. –
Looking to snap a two-game skid, Radford will attempt to get back in the win column when the Highlanders host High Point Saturday at 4:30 p.m. The Big South contest has been designated as the Play 4Kay game.

MEET THE PANTHERS

♦ Under the direction of first-year head coach DeUnna Hendrix, High Point is fourth in the Big South entering Saturday's slate of contests.
♦ Offensively, the Panthers rank fourth in the conference in scoring at 65.7 points per game. On the defensive side of the ball, HPU is seventh by allowing 63.6 points an outing.
♦ At 7.36 blocks a game, the Panthers lead the league in that category, while ranking fourth in rebounding (41.0) and third in assists (13.4).
♦ Cheyenne Parker puts up 18.2 points a contest, which leads HPU and is the second-best scoring average in the BSC. Parker, who became the seventh member of the Panthers' 1,000-point club earlier this season, leads the conference in rebounding (13.2) and nation in blocks (4.4). Stacia Robertson, who chalked up 20 points in High Point's last outing with Radford, averages 11.8 points each time out (12th-best in BSC).
♦ Parker scored a career-high 34 points to go along with 20 rebounds to lead High Point to a 79-72 win at Longwood. The junior standout was one of four Panthers to score in double digits in the Big South win Thursday at Willett Hall in Farmville, Va.

HIGHLANDER HAPPENINGS

♦ Radford is led by Ashley Buckhannon in the scoring column at 12.1 per contest (11th-best in conference), while Victoria Hamilton crashes the boards for a team-best 7.9 rebounds per outing (ranks sixth in the league). Buckhannon (2.5) and Hamilton (2.3) rank third and sixth, respectively, in the Big South in steals. Buckhannon became the 20th member of Radford women's basketball's 1,000-point club against Campbell on Thursday.
♦ The Highlanders are efficient with their trips to the charity stripe, converting 72 percent of their attempts, which ranks third in the Big South.
♦ At 11.6 steals per game, Radford ranks first in the league, while also topping the Big South in turnover margin (+3.1).

SERIES HISTORY

♦ Despite winning four out of the last six against the Panthers, Radford trails 20-15 in the all-time series with High Point. The Highlanders are 5-2 in the last seven meetings with HPU inside the Dedmon Center.

WHAT'S NEXT

♦ Following its two-game stretch at the Dedmon Center, Radford hits the road for three straight contests. Next week, the Highlanders travel north for a couple battles with their in-state Big South foes Longwood and Liberty. The Lancers welcome RU to Farmville on Thursday at 7:00 p.m.

LAST TIME OUT

♦ Senior guard Ashley Buckhannon became Radford women's basketball's 20th member of the 1,000-point club Thursday night, but the Highlanders were unable to answer Campbell's rally in the second half to drop a 66-52 Big South decision at the Dedmon Center.
♦ Behind 50 percent shooting, including a 62.5 percent efficiency in the final 20 minutes, the Lady Camels improve to 15-8 overall and 7-5 in conference action. In comparison, Radford shot 30.8 percent for the game to fall to 12-9 on the season and 7-5 in league competition.
♦ Needing only one point to hit the milestone, the senior sharpshooter crossed the 1,000-point plateau with a trey from the far corner less than a minute into the game. Ironically, the last time a Highlander scored 1,000 points was Da'Naria Erwin Spencer (Feb. 6, 2012 at Campbell).
♦ Finishing with 14 points and four assists, Buckhannon did everything she could to keep Radford in the game. Erwin Spencer was right behind her backcourt mate with 13 points on 5-of-11 shooting. Victoria Hamilton ripped down a team-best eight boards, while La-She' Walker swished home a career-high eight points in addition to six rebounds.
♦ Despite winning the rebounding battle 41-34 and having a 19-6 advantage in second-chance points, Radford could not overcome 23 turnovers and Campbell's bench chalking up 31 points, compared to the Highlanders' 19.

LAST MEETING WITH HIGH POINT

♦ After grabbing its first double-figure lead in the second half, Radford women's basketball had to fend off a furious High Point comeback that allowed the Panthers to reclaim the lead, but the Highlanders held on for the crucial 64-55 Big South victory Jan. 26 at the Millis Center.
♦ For the second straight outing, Da'Naria Erwin Spencer led the Highlanders with 17 points on 5-of-11 shooting to go along with a 7-for-10 performance from the charity stripe.
Ayana Avery played phenomenal in front of her home crowd, torching the nets for 10 points, which included two critical 3-pointers in response to High Point's second-half surge. Ashia Holmes was credited with a career-high-tying four assists.
♦ Coming in as the third-best team in the Big South in rebounding (43.8), High Point was held to just 37 (tied for the fourth-fewest this season) while RU hauled in 40. Jordynn Gaymon led the way in the rebounding department for the Highlanders with eight. Breaking the 20-point plateau for the second consecutive game, Stacia Robertson knocked down a game-high 20 points on 7-of-15 shooting for the Panthers.
♦ However, much of Radford's attention was focused on how to slow down Cheyenne Parker, who entered the conference clash with the second-most double-doubles in the nation (15). Despite registering her 16th double-double of the season (12 points and 11 rebounds), Parker was held in check compared to most nights she has. The 6-4 junior, who leads the nation at 4.4 blocks per game, totaled a game-high five rejections against RU.
