RADFORD, Va. – The Radford men's tennis team travels to Cary, N.C. this weekend to participate in Duke's Fab Four Invitational. This will be the Highlanders' first action of the season as the squad will compete in both singles and doubles.
The opening round of doubles matches begins at 10 a.m. Friday, with the singles round starting at 2:30 p.m.
Senior captain Joe Mills will team up with Javier Waase to face NC State's Austin Powell and Beck Bond. In the singles portion, Mills will battle Nicky Kunz from Wake Forest, while Waase will play Nick Horton from NC State.
Nicholas Sayer and Patrick O'Keefe clash with Cale Hammond and Josh Levine from Duke in the opening round of doubles. For the singles draw, O'Keefe will challenge Duke's Raphael Hemmeler, who is one of eight players entering the tournament listed in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) preseason national rankings. Meanwhile, Sayer goes against Hemmeler's teammate, DJ McCall.
