CARY, N.C. – Nicholas Sayer downed William & Mary's Scott Huang in the white consolation bracket third-place match (6-1, 6-2) in leading the Radford men's tennis team Sunday at the Duke Fab Four Invitational contested at Cary Tennis Park.
With the victory, Sayer finished 2-2 in singles action to tie Mehdi Benhammou for sixth all-time in career singles victories in program history. The senior has accumulated 73 singles wins in his time at RU.
Joe Mills faced his second nationally-ranked foe in as many days as he endured a 6-1, 6-4 loss to No. 92 Nelson Vick of North Carolina. Patrick O'Keefe battled South Florida's Ignacio Gonzalez-Muniz in the blue consolation bracket third-place match, falling in straight sets (6-3, 6-3). Meanwhile, Javier Waase concluded his tournament play with a 6-2, 6-0 setback to John Banks of William & Mary.
Radford is back in action Oct. 4-6 at the UVa Fall Classic hosted by the Cavaliers in Charlottesville, Va.
