RADFORD, Va.  – UNC Asheville used a 14-4 run over the final 3:30 of the game to register a 68-61 come-from-behind win over Radford in Big South women's basketball action Saturday afternoon.

Four of the eight Highlanders (2-15, 0-8 Big South) who played reached double figures. Leading the way was Breshara Gordon, who dropped in 14 points and four assists.

Ayana Avery dialed up three 3-pointers on her way to 13 points. Kiera McIvor (12) and Aisha Foy (10) rounded out the quartet of double-figure scorers. RU shot 41.7 percent (25-60) from the floor, including a sizzling 47.8 percent (11-23) in the second stanza.

"That was a tremendous conference game with a ton of effort displayed by both sides," head coach Mike McGuire said. "I thought our team competed hard and continued to show improvement."

Leading 57-54 with 3:47 to go, Radford was stymied by the Bulldogs (7-9, 4-3 Big South) for the next two minutes before Gordon kissed a jumper off glass and in to pull RU within, 60-59. From there, UNC Asheville rattled off six unanswered points to build a 66-59 advantage and put the game out of reach.

Paige Love and Tianna Knuckles chipped in 13 points apiece to direct the Bulldogs' offense. Love also pulled down a game-high nine rebounds. Brittany Gwyn and Shonese Jones added 10 points each for UNC Asheville, which shot 42.4 percent (25-59) for the game. The Bulldogs narrowly won the rebounding battle, 37-35.
