RADFORD GOES FOR SOUTH CAROLINA SWEEP ON SATURDAY

CHARLESTON, S.C. – Coming off a win at Coastal Carolina, the Radford women's basketball team will be gunning for a 2-for-2 trip when the Highlanders clash with Charleston Southern Saturday at 2 p.m. in an ESPN3 game inside Buccaneer Field House.
 
MEET THE BUCCANEERS
» CSU has dropped its last three contests, including Thursday's 59-48 Big South battle at home against Winthrop.
» Erin Bratcher directs the offense with her 13.1 points per game, which are tied for 10th in the Big South. DJ Fowler ranks 16th in the league in scoring at 11.1 points per game. She dishes out over three assists per outing and leads the Big South in steals per game (3.29).
» Anicia Dotson pulls down a team-best 6.3 rebounds per contest, in addition to her 10.1 points per game.
» The Bucs average 62.4 points per contest, while surrendering 66.6 each time out. They allow their opponents to shoot 41.7 percent, which is the highest average in the Big South.
» Despite ranking sixth in efficiency from 3-point land, the Bucs lead the conference in 3-pointers made per game (7.57).
» Fred Applin is in his second season guiding the Bucs, which earned the 10th seed for the 2013 VisitMyrtleBeach.com Big South Women's Basketball Tournament earlier this year. Applin has coaching experience at a number of high profile schools such as North Carolina, Texas, Wake Forest, Houston and Washington.
 
CHARLESTON SOUTHERN SERIES AT A GLANCE
» Radford has won five of the previous seven meetings in the all-time series, which the Highlanders lead, 43-18. In the two sides' first meeting this season, Charleston Southern shot 49.1 percent from the floor en route to an 84-64 win over RU at the Dedmon Center.

» Radford is back at the Dedmon Center for two games next week. First up is a Feb. 6 matchup with Presbyterian College at 7 p.m.
