BIG SOUTH PLAY OPENS WEDNESDAY AT DEDMON VS. LIBERTY

For this first time in Radford men's basketball history, the Highlanders open Big South Conference play against one of their biggest rivals, the Liberty Flames. Radford will put its perfect 6-0 home record on the line Wednesday at the Dedmon Center for a 7:00 p.m. tip to the conference season. As part of faculty/staff appreciation, all RU employees receive free admission to the game with their identification.

RU SPORTS RADIO NETWORK
• Each Radford men's basketball game can be heard live in the New River Valley on the RU Sports Radio Network on the campus flagship, WRVU 89.9-FM and on the commercial affiliate, SuperSports 101.7-FM. Rick Watson handles the play-by-play for the Highlanders.

BIG SOUTH NETWORK
• The video feed of Radford men's basketball home game is also carried live on the Big South Network, which is a free service this year.

SERIES NOTES
• Radford leads the all-time series 32-30.
• Radford is 21-8 in games played at home against the Flames.
• Liberty has won six straight games in the series. The last RU win in the series was at the Vines Center, 74-69, in 2010.
• Liberty has won five straight at the Dedmon Center. The last RU win at home in the series was a one-point win, 89-88, in 2008.

SCOUTING THE FLAMES
• Liberty enters Wednesday's game with a 6-9 record and having lost two straight and three of its las four games.
• The defending Big South Tournament champions are 0-6 on the road in 2013-14.
• Antwan Burrus leads the Flames in scoring (13.4 ppg) and is second in rebounding (5.4 rpg).
• Three other players average double digits in scoring: John Caleb Sanders (12.2), Davon Marshall (10.7), and Tomasz Gielo (10.3).
• J.R. Coronado leads the team in rebounding at 5.8 per game.

HIGHLANDER QUICK NOTES
• Radford is 11-17 all-time in Big South openers and has lost three straight.
• Radford is 6-0 at home this season. The last team to defeat the Highlanders at the Dedmon Center was Liberty in last season's regular-season finale.
• Mike Jones is 19-16 in home games in his third season.
• Prior to this season, RU has never had double-digit wins prior to Big South Conference play.
• Kion Brown recorded his first career double-double at Hampton with 12 points and a career-high 10 rebounds.
• Javonte Green ranks 5th all-time with 215 career offensive rebounds.
• Javonte Green has 17 career double-doubles.
• Brandon Holcomb set a career high with 10 points at Santa Clara and tied a season high with 10 rebounds at UNLV on the West Coast road trip.
• R.J. Price ranks 8th all-time in career three-point field goals made with 177. He tied career highs with 30 points and 6 three-pointers vs. Sacred Heart.
• Rashun Davis set a career high with 20 points vs. Sacred Heart.
• Jalen Carethers tied a career high with 12 points vs. Sacred Heart and tied a season-high with 3 blocks vs. The Citadel.
• Kyle Noreen has dished out 21 assists with just 3 turnovers this season. That's a 7.0 assist-to-turnover ratio. The national statistical leader is at 5.0 (Noreen does not qualify for the national rankings based on number of assists per game).
• Allen Dickerson had his first block since his freshman year in the win over Houghton.

MILESTONES
• Javonte Green became RU's 20th all-time 1,000-point scorer with his 7th point of 22 vs. Houghton. He now has 1,035 points and 566 rebounds.
• R.J. Price needs 34 (966) points to become the 21st member of the 1,000-point club.

PROJECTED STARTING LINEUP
• This lineup (R.J. Price, Ya Ya Anderson, Kyle Noreen, Javonte Green, and Brandon Holcomb) has started together 18 (11-7) times overall and 13 times (9-4) this season.
