WIECHECKI CARRIES RADFORD PAST HIGH POINT IN FIVE

RADFORD, Va. – Senior outside hitter Rachel Wiechecki delivered her 12th double-double of the season to propel the Radford volleyball team to a 3-2 (23-25, 25-20, 25-17, 21-25, 15-11) Big South victory over High Point Friday night inside the Dedmon Center.

"This was a great win in front of a great atmosphere tonight," head coach Marci Jenkins said. "It was nice to finally return home and play in front of our fans. We really appreciate their support. Both teams played well tonight, and I am happy our girls were able to finish strong."

In the Highlanders' first home match in over a month, Wiechecki was at the top of her game as she blasted a season-high 26 kills and pocketed 17 digs. Wiechecki hit .379 on the attack, taking 58 swings in the five-setter. Radford (13-6, 3-1 Big South) was equally as hot, attacking at a .319 clip. Classmate Emma Deininger joined Wiechecki in double-figure kills with a career-high-tying 14 at a .520 efficiency.

Jena Braden tallied her ninth double-double behind her 49 assists and 11 digs. Savanna Burton and Kelby Jackson also reached double-figure digs with 11 apiece. Savannah Cantrell and Wiechecki stood tall at the net, recording four blocks each. With the win, RU now has a 5-1 record in five-set matches.

Kristin Heldt notched a double-double with 16 kills and 10 digs to pace High Point (7-10, 1-3 Big South). Haley Barnes and Chelsea Davis contributed 15 and 10 kills, respectively. Wavie Chin dug a match-high 23 attacks to anchor the Panthers' backline.
