HIGHLANDERS, TERRIERS MEET FOR SECOND TIME MONDAY NIGHT

RADFORD, Va. – For just the second time in series history, Radford and Wofford are set to battle in nonconference women's basketball action Monday at 7 p.m. inside the Dedmon Center.

SCOUTING WOFFORD
The Terriers (3-5) enter Monday's contest on a two-game win streak following their 87-36 victory over Montreat, Saturday. RU marks the fourth Big South foe Wofford will face this season. The Terriers defeated Charleston Southern (55-48) and UNC Asheville (70-52), but lost to Gardner-Webb (65-60).

Their triumph over UNC Asheville snapped a 27-game losing streak in road contests. Prior to that game, Wofford's last win on the road was against Alabama on Dec. 17, 2012.

Radford won the lone meeting (63-46) between these two programs on Dec. 10, 2011 in Asheville, N.C., as part of the SoCon/Big South Challenge.

Junior guard Jordan Frazier spearheads the Wofford offense at 16.5 points per game. She has reached double-figure scoring in each of her six games played, including a season-high 28 against UNC Asheville. Junior guard Ashton Fleming is the Terriers' top rebounder at 8.1 boards per game.

Wofford has shot 38.5 percent from the field through its first eight games, including just 29.1 percent from 3-point land. The Terriers average 23.4 turnovers each time out.

RU (2-6) will be looking to snap its three-game skid when the team returns to the court for its fourth straight home game.

Senior Ayana Avery paces the offense with her 9.4 points per game. She is the Highlanders' top threat from beyond the arc. The 5-foot-5 guard has a team-high 17 3-pointers through eight contests.

Against Coastal Carolina, Avery broke the Radford record for 3-pointers made in a career. She currently has 204 in her time as a Highlander, which surpassed Kylie Williamson (1999-04) for the most all-time. Avery also set the single-season mark with 95 made 3-pointers in 2013-14.

The Cleveland, N.C., sharpshooter is inching closer to the 1,000-point club. Avery has 945 points through 96 career games played. She would become the 21st member of the group.

Over in the rebounding department, freshman Janayla White and senior Jordynn Gaymon pull down 7.9 caroms per contest. They are tied for seventh in the conference with that average. White ranks fifth in blocks per game at 1.88 per game.
