ROCK HILL, S.C. – Winners in four of its previous five games, the Radford women's basketball team aims to continue its upward climb in the Big South standings Saturday at 1 p.m. when the Highlanders collide with league-leading Winthrop in Rock Hill, S.C.

MEET THE EAGLES
» One of the hottest teams in the conference, Winthrop has won five straight. However, its last three contests have been decided by single digits.
» Fans in attendance Saturday afternoon will get a glimpse of one of the most prolific scorers in Big South Conference history in two-time player of the year Dequesha McClanahan. The Oak Ridge, Tenn. native, who has already broken the Winthrop scoring record, is only 51 points away from the Big South scoring record. The current mark is 2,154 points, which is held by former Liberty standout Elena Kisseleva. McClanahan's tally entering the Radford game is 2,103. She also has the Winthrop career assists record, breaking the previous mark of 612. For the season, McClanahan is dishing out 6.96 assists per game, which lead the Big South. McClanahan became the first player in Big South history to have more than 2,000 points, 500 rebounds, 600 assists and 200 steals earlier this season.
» McClanahan (17.2), Erica Williams (15.3), Schaquilla Nunn (12.1) and Samiya Wright (10.4) account for 80.4 percent of the Eagles' scoring.
» Nunn, the 2013 Big South Freshman of the Year, leads the Big South in blocks (57) and is tied for first in rebounding (10.8).
» Williams is making her case for freshman of the year in 2014. She has been named the conference's freshman of the week a league-best six times already this season. Williams led all scorers with 16 points when these two teams met earlier this year.
» Winthrop ranks second in scoring defense (59.5), second in field goal percentage (.413), first in field goal percentage defense (.347) and first in blocks per game (4.54).
» The Eagles climbed to No. 22 in this week's CollegeInsider.com Mid-Major Top 25 poll, marking their highest national ranking in program history.

WINTHROP SERIES AT A GLANCE
» Radford leads the all-time series, 53-14, despite dropping eight of the previous 11 meetings. The Highlanders were defeated by Winthrop, 67-62, at Winthrop Coliseum last season. Jan. 12, 2009 is the last time Radford won on the Eagles' hardwood.

UP NEXT
» Radford plays its final regular season road game next Saturday in Farmville, Va. against Longwood. Tipoff with the Lancers is scheduled for 2 p.m. inside Willett Hall.
