SOFTBALL EDGED BY TENNESSEE TECH, 1-0

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – Radford was edged by Tennessee Tech, 1-0, on Sunday afternoon in its final game of the Frost Classic at Warner Park.
 
Danielle Liberator tossed a two-hit complete game shutout for the Golden Eagles (5-8). She struck out five and walked one batter.
 
Liberatore received the only run she would need in the first on a one-out solo home run by Madison Taylor.
 
The Highlanders (2-4) generated only four base runners for the game with sophomore Becky Mantel and senior Jessie Hutchens recording infield singles, respectively.
 
Starter Rachael Walter and reliever Abby Morrow kept Tennessee Tech scoreless the rest of the contest. Walters suffered the loss. She allowed five hits, struck out two and did not walk a batter. Morrow tossed two scoreless innings, striking out two, allowing one hit and a walk.
 
Radford returns to action on Wednesday, Feb. 26 at Virginia Tech. The Highlanders and Hokies will play a single game starting at 5:00 p.m.
