Early on in the 2014 campaign, Radford has played all but one of its games at ACC venues having played tournaments in the first two weekends of the season at Georgia Tech and Wake Forest. That trend continues Tuesday as the Highlanders travel just 15 minutes from campus to face Virginia Tech at English Field in Blacksburg. First pitch is set for 3:30 p.m.
Radford (2-5) enters Tuesday's game coming off the thee-game Wake Forest Invitational in Winston-Salem, N.C. where the Highlanders dropped a game to Missouri, defeated Cincinnati, and then lost a one-run game to the host Demon Deacons.
Austin Ross (0-1) is scheduled to make his second career start against the Hokies. Ross took the loss at North Carolina A&T last week when he went 2.0 innings and gave up four runs on five hits.
Virginia Tech (2-2) comes into the game at .500 on the season with wins over Delaware and Texas Southern, and losses to The Citadel and LSU. The Hokies are scheduled to start Sean Keselica, who will be making his first appearance on the mound this season.
The Hokies lead the all-time series, 39-9 and have won five straight in the series.
