DAY, BRADLEY, PARAKHOUSKI NAMED TO BIG SOUTH ALL-DECADES TEAMS

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The Big South Conference announce Wednesday its men's basketball All-Decades Teams to honor the 30th anniversary of the league. Three Highlanders were honored, including Doug Day, Dr. Ron Bradley, and Art Parakhouski.

Day finished his playing days at Radford as the most prolific three-point shooter in NCAA history (401) and remains the school's all-time leading scorer with 2,027 points. He was a four-time All-Big South selection and is a member of both the Radford Athletics and Big South Halls of Fame. Day was named to the 1990-99 all-decade team.

Bradley was also honored as the head coach for the 1990-99 all-decade team. Bradley is also a member of both the RU Athletics and Big South Halls of Fame. He won the 1998 Big South title and led the Highlanders to their first NCAA Tournament berth. He was selected as the conference Coach of the Year for the 1997-98 season. As a head coach in the Big South, Bradley finished with an overall record of 140-89 and 76-38 in league games.

Parakhouski finished his two-year career at RU with back-to-back All-America selections and the two-time Big South Player of the Year. He led the Highlanders to the 2009 Big South championship and a berth in the NCAA Tournament. Despite playing just two seasons at Radford, Parakhouski ranks 14th all-time in points scored (1,195) and second in rebounds (783). He was named to the 2000-09 all-decade team.

Basketball All-Decade Team candidates were determined based on being at least one of the following: 1) Was a multiple All-Conference honoree; 2) Was named an All-American; 3) Is a member of the Big South Conference Hall of Fame; 4) Student-athletes must be a college graduate or left their respective institution in good academic standing; 5) Won a Conference Championship as a coach and/or was voted Conference Coach of the Year; and 6) Players of the Year, Tournament MVPs and First-Team All-Conference honorees were among the candidate pool for the 1985-89 All-Decade Teams.
