NINETY SIX, S.C. –
Despite battling windy conditions, Radford climbed to fourth following Tuesday's second round of the 2014 Big South Men's Golf Championship at The Patriot Golf Club (par 72, 7,120 yards).

Low numbers were hard to come by on the Davis Love III-designed layout. A day after 13 golfers were at-or-below par, only five survived Tuesday's test at that ledger. One of those five golfers is Tanner Carbaugh, who is even-par (144) through 36 holes of play. Tied for fourth, the junior is the top Highlander in the individual standings. He continues to lead the field in pars with 28.

Ryan Rettberg ascended to 12th place following his 3-over-par 75 in the second round. He fired a 2-over-par 74 yesterday to put him at 5-over-par 149. The junior has played the par-3s at even-par, which is tied for second in the field.

At 7-over-par 151 (74-77), Callum Tarren is tied for 19th with one round to go. Superb par-5 scoring has been critical for the senior, who has played those holes in 6-under-par.

Conner Hayden also is tied for 19th at 151. He recorded a couple late birdies on his first nine today, making the turn at even-par. However, his second nine did not go as smoothly as he signed for a 77.

After dropping to 5-over-par on his opening seven holes, Nick Brediger played his final 11 holes at even-par to tally a 75. He birdied the par-5 18th for the second straight day.

As a team, Radford moved up one spot to fourth place behind its 303. The Highlanders' 595 is 12 shots behind first-place Liberty, which has four of its golfers inside the Top 20.

On the strength of their 293, the Flames have a five-shot advantage over Coastal Carolina. Charleston Southern is third at 589, six swings clear of RU. One stroke behind the Highlanders and in fifth place is Presbyterian College.

Radford is paired with PC and Winthrop for Wednesday's final round, which begins at 8:30 a.m. off hole No. 1.
