HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Led by the offensive firepower from its middles, Coastal Carolina hit .321 en route to a 3-0 triumph over Radford in Big South volleyball action Friday night inside the Dedmon Center.
  • The Highlanders built a 24-20 advantage in the third set, but Coastal engineered a 6-0 run to clinch the set and the match.
  • Entering Friday as the conference leader in hitting percentage, the Chanticleers were efficient in their offense, swinging .385 and .395 in the first and third sets, respectively.

  • RU dropped its third straight decision to the Chants, who remain the lone unbeaten team in Big South play.
  • Cheyanne James pounded down a season-high 12 kills to lead the Highlanders' offensive numbers.
  • Savanna Burton reached double-figure kills for the 13th time this season, unleashing 11 winners.
  • Megan Short and Valerie Gonzalez chipped in nine and eight kills, respectively.
  • Five Highlanders recorded at least seven digs on the night, led by Meg Bowers' nine.
  • Haley Kleespies tossed out 39 assists in managing a Radford offense that hit .231.
  • Coastal received 22 of its 46 kills from middle blockers Eszter Nagy (12) and Annayka Legros (10).
  • Leah Hardeman, the 2014 Big South Player and Freshman of the Year, contributed 11 kills and 13 digs.
