RADFORD LOOKS TO CONTINUE BIG SOUTH SUCCESS AGAINST ACC COMPETITION

BIG SOUTH/ACC CHALLENGE
  • Big South women's basketball teams have played six games against ACC competition to date.
  • Gardner-Webb (def. North Carolina) and Coastal Carolina (def. Clemson) have earned two road wins for the league.

  • The Highlanders are coming off a thrilling 66-63 victory versus George Mason, Friday night inside the Dedmon Center.
  • Aisha Foy nailed a pair of crucial 3-pointers down the stretch to propel Radford to its season-opening triumph.
  • Six underclassmen saw action in the Highlanders' season opener, including four freshmen.
  • Janayla White scored a career-high 19 points, with 11 coming from the charity stripe to lead Radford, offensively.
  • Jayda Worthy (13) and Foy (11) also reached double-figure scoring in the win.
  • Radford shot 35 percent from the floor, including 21.1 percent from 3-point land.

SCOUTING NC STATE

  • The Wolfpack is off to a 2-0 start after home wins over Villanova (70-64) and High Point (89-48).
  • Thursday's game against Radford will be NC State's second and final game inside PNC Arena this season. Reynolds Coliseum, which is normally the Wolfpack's home venue, is currently under renovation.
  • The Wolfpack is looking for its fifth straight 3-0 start to the season.
  • RU is the second of three straight Big South foes NC State is facing this week. The Wolfpack travel to Liberty on Friday.
  • The Wolfpack is under the direction of third-year head coach Wes Moore, who has 22 postseason appearances and 21 20+ win seasons to his credit.
  • NC State has three players averaging double-digit scoring, with Jennifer Mathurin leading the way at 16 ppg.
  • Dominique Wilson, who Coach McGuire recruited as an assistant at Richmond, transferred from Arkansas in 2013 and is averaging 14 ppg in her junior season with the Wolfpack.
  • NC State is shooting a blistering 46.5 percent from the floor and is outrebounding its opponents by 13.5.
