HIGHLANDER HIGHLIGHTS
  • Record: 1-1
  • Radford looks to bounce back from Monday's loss at VCU as it settled for a split of two road games against perennial Top-25 teams.
  • Rashun Davis averaged 23 points, 7.5 assists and 4.5 rebounds in his first two games. After earning Big South Player of the Week honors for his career-high 28-point effort against Georgetown, the senior point guard dished out a career-best 10 assists Monday night against VCU.
  • With his 15 total assists, Davis has moved into seventh in program history with 323, passing current assistant coach Chris Hawkins.
  • Cameron Jones is averaging 16 points and 4.5 rebounds and has hit 6 of 12 3-point attempts.
  • The freshmen duo of Ed Polite, Jr. and Christian Lutete has made an impact early on. Polite, Jr. has averaged six points and 4.5 rebounds, while Lutete is coming off an 11-point performance in which he made all three 3-point attempts.
  • Radford got off to a slow start shooting the ball in the first half against VCU, but shot 61 percent in the second half to finish at 48 percent for the game. The Highlanders also bounced back from a poor performance at the line against Georgetown to make 17 of 20 on Monday night.
  • Wednesday night's game is the lone home contest for Radford in its first six games and is the second of four outings in a six-day stretch this week.

SCOUTING CATAWBA
  • Record: 0-2
  • Coming off a 14-15 campaign, Catawba dropped its season opener at Francis Marion on a last-second shot before falling to UNC Pembroke by 12 on Saturday.
  • Guard KJ Arrington, who ranked second in the Division II South Atlantic Conference last season with 17.7 points per game, is out for this season with an injury.
  • Guard Jameel Taylor, an all-freshman team pick last year, leads the Indians through two games with 12.0 points and 3.5 assists per contest.
  • Forward Jerrin Morrison, the conference's Freshman of the Year last season after averaging 15.5 points per game, is at 11.5 this year.
  • In its two games, Catawba shot 40 percent from the field, but just 21 percent from 3-point range. The Indians forced 39 turnovers, but were outrebounded by eight.

UP NEXT
  • Radford hits the road for its next three games, beginning with a pair in Smithfield, R.I., as part of the 2K Classic.
  • The Highlanders will take on Siena on Friday before facing either host Bryant or Prairie View A&M on Saturday.
