HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Dominique Wilson scored a game-high 17 points to lead three NC State players in double-figure scoring as the Wolfpack defeated Radford, 67-52, Tuesday night inside PNC Arena.
  • After the Highlanders jumped out to an early 4-1 advantage, NC State manufactured a 14-0 run to build a 15-4 cushion with 2:48 remaining in the first quarter.
  • Radford cut its deficit to four points (35-31) after an Aisha Foy fast-break layup at the 30-second mark of the second quarter.
  • The Highlanders went into break down, 38-31.
  • RU got as close as three points (38-35) with 8:32 to go in the third period, before the Wolfpack embarked on a 26-9 run to put the game out of reach.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
  • Foy dialed up a season-high 15 points on 4 of 9 shooting. She hit six of her eight free-throw attempts.
  • Alexis Jackson reached double figures for the first time in her freshman campaign, totaling 10 points. The Severn, Md., native shot 50 percent from 3-point land.
  • The Highlanders connected on 42.9 percent of their attempts from long range.
  • Lydia Rivers pulled down eight of Radford's 31 rebounds.
  • NC State won the rebounding battle, 45-31.
  • The Wolfpack only tallied seven points off its second-chance opportunities.
  • At one point during the game, there were eight freshmen on the court (four for both teams).
  • RU generated nine steals against NC State, the most by the Highlanders since Feb. 21, 2015 vs. Campbell (10).
  • The Wolfpack begin its season 3-0 for the fifth straight year.

QUOTABLE
  • "I thought we played well in spurts tonight. NC State's speed and size put us on our heels a little at the beginning of the game. Once we settled down, I thought we did some good things we can build on moving forward. We must improve our execution on the offensive end and must build our intensity on the defensive end." ~ Radford head coach, Mike McGuire

UP NEXT
  • Radford visits Youngtown State for Friday's non-conference tilt in Youngstown, Ohio.
  • Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m., and the game will be broadcast on ESPN3.
