HIGHLANDER HIGHLIGHTS
  • Record: 7-5
  • Radford looks to notch a third consecutive victory for the first time this season and also pick up its fourth true road win.
  • Seniors Kion Brown and Taj Owens are coming off career-best scoring performances in the win over UNC Wilmington. Brown had team-highs of 17 points and nine rebounds, while Owens tallied 16 points and had team-bests of three assists and three steals.
  • Rashun Davis ranks first in the Big South in assists per game (4.8) and 11th in scoring (13.7). He is also tied for fourth in steals and fourth in free-throw percentage.
  • Entering Monday's action, Ed Polite Jr. held the Big South lead with 43 offensive rebounds – three more than High Point's John Brown. Along with his 10.3 points per game, Polite is first on the team and 12th in the conference with 6.1 rebounds per contest and tied for third in the league in blocks.
  • Cameron Jones ranks sixth in the conference in 3-point percentage (40.6) and ninth in makes per game (2.3), while scoring 12.6 ppg.
  • As a team, Radford is first in the Big South and tied for 31st nationally with 14.3 offensive rebounds per game. The Highlanders also rank second in the conference and 19th in the nation in 3-point percentage defense, holding opponents to just 28 percent from behind the arc.
  • RU's reserves have totaled 75 points in the last two games, contributed at least 30 points in seven contests and outscored the opponents' bench nine times.
  • Radford is now 3-1 in games decided by three points or less and 6-2 in contests with single-digit margins.
  • The victory over UNC Wilmington was the Highlanders' first this year when trailing at the half. They have won all five games in which they were ahead at halftime.
  • Radford is 20-12 all-time in matchups against Southern Conference opponents, but has played just three since 2006, winning each one.

SCOUTING CHATTANOOGA
  • Record: 9-2
  • Chattanooga is off to its best start since the 2002-03 campaign and has won six of its last seven games, with the most recent a 78-66 decision over Kennesaw State at home last Friday.
  • The Mocs come in ranked No. 5 in the CollegeInsider.com Mid-Major poll and own an RPI of 25, thanks to victories over Georgia, Illinois and Dayton. The latter ended the Flyers' 26-game home winning streak and came without SoCon Preseason Player of the Year Casey Jones.
  • Jones, one of four returning starters from a 22-10 team, has missed the last three games and is out indefinitely with an ankle injury. The two-time All-SoCon pick was leading the team in points (12.6), rebounds (6.5) and assists (3.9).
  • However, six other Mocs are averaging at least seven points a game, led by Justin Tuoyo at 11.0 per game. The 6-foot-10 center scored 21 against Kennesaw, along with 12 rebounds.
  • Point guard Greg Pryor averages 10.3 points and 3.3 assists, while forward Tre' McLean and guard Eric Robertson are at 9.5 and 8.5 ppg, respectively.
  • The 3-point shot is the Mocs' major offensive weapon as they rank 22nd in the nation in 3-point percentage (40.6) and tied for 30th in makes per game (9.3). Overall, they are shooting a SoCon-best 47 percent from the field.
  • Robertson led the SoCon in 3-point percentage last year and has hit 27 of 56 (48 percent) attempts this season. Pryor is shooting 46 percent on 39 attempts, while Peyton Woods and Alex Bran have combined to make 17 of 29 in limited minutes off the bench.
  • On the defensive end, Tuoyo ranks first in the SoCon with 22 blocks and is closing in on the program's all-time record.
  • Chattanooga has won all four of its home games by double digits.
  • Matt McCall is in his first year as a head coach after spending the previous 10 seasons at Florida on Billy Donovan's staff, the last four as an assistant.

UP NEXT
  • Following the holiday, Radford plays its final non-conference game of the season as it hosts Central Penn on Sunday.
  • Tipoff in the Dedmon Center is set for 3 p.m.
